TRX (Suspension Training) has been incorporated to functional training as one of the most efficient workout systems when it comes to return and performance, besides being one of the most entertaining and fun if you’re looking to improve your health, get fit or simply have fun while you exercise.
TRX is based on the use of suspension straps placed at a certain distance, which you’ll use to perform the exercises using your body weight.
This training system was created by Randy Hetrich (founder of Fitness Anywhere) and his fellow Navy seals when they needed to keep up their physical condition and they didn’t have any training equipment. They came up with the idea of using the belt of a parachute as suspension strap and perform a series of basic moves with the help of their body weight. This initial experiment derived in very effective training methodology, with multiple benefits for those who practice the same. TRX has become a “portable” functional training system.
