If you train on a daily basis and you like to change your routines, you may find that you end up running out of ideas. That’s the reason why I think it’s important for you to know the different tools we can use to train at a gym or at home. If you’ve already tried classic training methodologies such as the kettlebells, training on an unstable base, TRX and others then, you could try the sandbag.

The sandbag is precisely that: a ballast bag with a series of handles that make its use easier and comfortable. They’re usually available in several versions of different weight to be used in the performance of any exercise, so they’re accessible to every level.

A sandbag can be useful to train all muscle groups of the body: we can use it to perform analytical exercise such as the chest press or, to perform multi-articulating moves, such as the frontal squat.

The best part of the sandbag is the fact that it allows us to work in all planes of movement: we aren’t limited to the press and pull; on the contrary, we can train rotations and more complex movements with transference of those into our daily lives, as well as other activities related to sports.
